Credit for Prior Learning

Some institutions may grant credit for formal, as well as informal learning, including knowledge and skills gained outside a traditional classroom setting through work or life experience. The context of the learning is not key to the process as the focus is on the learning.  A Prior Learning Assessments and Recognition (PLAR) may include exams, interviews, performance assessments, and a portfolio review to gauge knowledge.
